JOB DESCRIPTION:
 Job Title : Specialist Dermatology Department Dermatology
Reports To Medical Director &
Branch Manager
Number of
subordinates 1 or more.

1. Job Purpose
The Specialist Dermatology offers consultation, diagnosis, and treatment to patients who are
interested in improving their skin condition. The Specialist - Dermatology will also provide clinical
leadership, professional medical direction and services to the TEC Elixir Medical Center including,
but not limited to, developing and implementing policies, procedures and best practices within the
Dermatology Department.
 2. Duties and Responsibilities
2.1 Primary Responsibilities and Duties
• Consult, diagnose and provide treatment to patients who are interested in improving their skin’s
aesthetic condition.
• Conduct a competent physical assessment using all resources at hand, observation and
communication.
• Conduct complete skin examinations.
• Perform various cosmetic procedures such as Botox injections, chemical peeling, collagen
fillers, laser hair removal, sclerotherapy, PRP and microdermabrasion etc.
• Provide treatment of facial skin to maintain and improve its appearance, including
understanding about the sun and its effect on the skin.
• Administer - chemical treatments for face and body keeping pace
with latest developments in the field.
• Participate and provide clinical leadership in the development and review of appropriate
protocols that support consistent care.
• Ensures timely and accurate documentation of all patients records according to Medical Center’s standards.
• Ensure all patients have their needs met and receive appropriate attention.
• Ensure that all procedures are in compliance with regulatory standards.
• Influences and facilitates change within the department in order to improve standards of care.
• Anticipates, recognizes and manages emergencies, and unsafe situations/practice, and
initiates appropriate and timely intervention.
• Promotes an environment that enables patient safety, independence, quality of life and health.
• Keeps updated with the latest innovation and advancements in the area of expertise.
• Provides excellent patient care and feedback.
• Represent Medical Center when required.
• Prepare reports when necessary.
• Maintains the strictest confidentiality and performs all duties in a professional manner.


2.2 Secondary Responsibilities and Duties
• Provide GP consultations when required.
• Guide and mentor junior and new staff.
• Encourage multi-disciplinary teamwork.
• Disseminate and implement the Medical Center’s policies & procedures.
• Adhere to the  Medical Center’s telephone standards.
• Adhere to Medical Center’s, Mission and Vision.
• Any other projects / duties as directed by the COO.
• Performs other duties as assigned.


2.3 Customer Service
• Adhere to the Medical Center’s mission of Faster-Better-Friendlier service.
• Ensure correct information is available for cashier to charge.
• Adhere to the hospitals telephone standards.

  2.4 Personal responsibilities
• Apply oneself to the job, continually upgrade oneself, and embrace TEC Medical Center’s
core values.
• Demonstrates professional accountability and responsibility at all times.
• Complies with the Code of Conduct for Medical Center.
• Maintains the strictest confidentiality and performs all duties in a professional manner.
• Maintains own professional development folder to record all educational and professional
growth activities.

 2.5 Staff Management
• Prepare, document and perform regular performance appraisals for direct reports.
• Review and update Department related policies where needed but all policies should be
reviewed at least every two years.
• Provide oversight and managerial guidance of direct reports.
3. Job Requirements
3.1 Skills and Knowledge
• Analytical, quantitative and communication skills (written & verbal).
• Practical knowledge of hospital operations.
• Be computer literate in Microsoft Word / Excel

Educational Qualifications & Certifications
• Master’s Degree in Dermatology
• Western Board certified preferred
• The ideal candidate must have a relevant medical license to practice in U.A.E. or be eligible to
obtain a Specialist License.
 
3.3 Professional Experience
• Minimum of 5 years of experience working as a Dermatologist
• Must have experience in PRP, Antiaging mesotherapy, micro dermabrasion, derma roller, skin
rejuvenation etc.
3.4 Personal Traits
• Should be presentable, have good manners and be professional at all times
• Should be proactive and take initiative
• Should be positive, self-motivated and flexible
• Should have good organizational and time management skills
4. Supervision Given
• Supervises the beauty therapists, laser technicians and other dermatology staff
5. Supervision Received
• Reports to the Medical Director and the Branch Manager.

Note: The position  is
that of a specialist dermatologist role in Alain.(Aesthetic procedures). The
requirements are very specific and niche. Starting salary AED70K- AED100K
monthly Should be local doctors within Alain
having a high client volume hitting revenues over 2 times their monthly salary.  The position will support two clinics in Alain and Abu Dhabi on
rotation basis weekly.
